National Fiscal Suicide

The Stimulus and the Bailout it seems like allot of money. Does anybody have a grip on that money? I think you would need a building full of accountants just to have a clue were it’s all going and who is going to pay for it all. I have only their word that people with law degrees and no real world experience know how to fix everything. Please forgive me if I am skeptical about the ability of lawyers to fix anything. Daniel Hannan said “it’s difficult for elected officials to say a situation is beyond their control”. The government is supposed to govern! For the government to be all things to all people is national fiscal suicide. They spend money like there is no tomorrow and print money as if the dollar has some intrinsic value which it does not. Obama, Pelosi and Reid are driving this nation to the brink of a nineteen-eighties like fiscal disaster. I lived through the nineteen-eighties and it was a nightmare. The “spenders” have already begun to drive the nations bond rating down.

There are those that believe that the government can take a dollar from someone’s pocket and give someone a dollar; a zero sum gain. There is no zero sum gain, after all remember that building full of accountants. If the government gives someone a dollar it has to take two dollars from someone else; a net loss. If fiscal imprudence drives down the bond rating this net loss becomes even worse because interest rates go up. I have no doubt that irrational spending can give the economy a temporary boost. A person can get some new shiny thing with a credit card; but, at the end of the month, the bill comes due.

I’m not saying that I agree with everything the “Dissenters” (Daniel Hannan, Ron Paul and Michael Scheuer) say; but you should listen to these people. Some of what they say makes more sense than anything the “Spenders” are saying.

“You can not carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of dept.” Daniel Hannan

“Congress is behaving like drug addicts who must hit rock bottom before they are ready to face reality.” Ron Paul

“Israel and its American supporters have made discussing the issue of Israel difficult and politically dangerous in the United States. A term that is never defined as "hate speech" is the epithet "anti-Semite," which is so often hurled at Americans by Americans to preempt debate on the U.S.-Israeli relationship.” Michael Scheuer

I had considered that we should keep our industry and outsource our government. It seems President Obama has beaten me to it as he has placed the White House under the control of the Israeli Defense Force. Some might like to think that our unholy crusade against Islam is a separate issue all together; they are wrong! The fact is that tanks are not economical; jets use more fuel just to get off the ground than your SUV will use all year and the cost of our war is a major factor in our national fiscal suicide.

"Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence … the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government. But that jealousy, to be useful, must be impartial, else it becomes the instrument of the very influence to be avoided, instead of a defense against it." George Washington 1796 (I hope you know who he is)

Sooner than Expected

Gun control, web control, mind control, something I wrote a long time ago. That was how I started my blog. In “Limits of Governance” I described a man in what I hoped would be a distant future desperately trying to hack into a government controlled internet and upload an unimproved version of the CONSTITUTION of the United States. I warned people that they should save a copy before the government “improves” the constitution. In “Rights, Nudes and the Internet” I warned “People who use the web to look at Cosmology don’t care about the rights of people who use the web to look at nudes” and both would loose their rights. Mr. Orwell has had the last laugh, good bye freedom: Cyber security act of 2009.

Do any of you understand how dangerous this is? Everything you know and all that you see will be put through government filters! In “Naughty News” I complained about CNN ignoring the news to cheer for Obama. They failed to cover tanks in Georgia, a collapsing financial system, Gaza or a resurgent Taliban. They spent all their time engaged in idle political gossip rather than asking who is pulling the strings. I don’t know; but, my guess is the people pulling Obama’s strings are some of the same people pulling strings at CNN and the Bush administration. One fact remains; The government is out of control and it will be up to “we the people” to stop it!

Who Killed the Conservatives?

So who killed the conservative movement, besides…?

What does it mean to be conservative? Consider that miracle in Philadelphia that took place in the sweltering summer of 1787. It was no accident that the constitution was not forged by Harvard law professors or that mealy mouthed slime we have in Washington today. Please make note that these were two fisted, hard drinking, pot smoking, and woman chasing[1] men that had stood off the world’s superpower. They had made the dangerous journey from their provinces to Philadelphia and they could have stood toe to toe with any LA gang member today. These men meant what they said and said what they meant. Each phrase and punctuation in our constitution was fought over in the state house and in the ale house. These fights were bitter and continued long after the constitution was ratified. A balance must be struck between tyrannical central authority and regional thiefdoms, keeping both in check[2]. The rebalancing of power is continually readjusted even today.

To be conservative simply means to think twice before going beyond the bounds of the constitution. This is a philosophy founded on limited government to promote free markets and free people. The conservative philosophy is not an ideology but a philosophy that for two centuries has allowed competing ideologies and religions to coexist.

So what went wrong? Political conservatives have been linked to religious extremists. Some of the biggest offenders here are the three stooges of Fox News.

In the early days of the “Reagan Revolution” when 40 years of “Obama economics” had nearly destroyed our nation; conservatives believed they needed the “Evangelical Christians” to win. Conservatives made a deal with the devil. The liberals, who want to discredit conservatives often, refer to fundamentalist lunatics as religious conservatives or the religious right. I was raised mainstream Protestant and there is nothing conservative about these radical spinoffs of the Protestant religion. Real conservatives must separate themselves from both Christian and Jewish extremism. Socialism does not work and Zionism is premeditated murder! There are a thousand other religious ideologies[3] that are killing the conservative movement now. We vote for political and fiscal conservatives and get religious fundamentalists that spend like drunken sailors on their “Holly War”.

It’s time for conservatives to leave the neo-cons and religious lunatics and take their chances with a philosophy founded on limited government to promote free markets and free people as the framers of the constitution had intended. Fox news should stop associating Political and Fiscal Conservatives with religious nuts; that’s Bill Maher’s job.

[1] Ben Franklin’s experiments in electricity made him as much of a superstar in physics as Einstein would be 150 years later. Ben Franklin’s libido was legendary even at 70. If your libido needs a bailout please check out the sizzling psychosexual cyber-erotica of: Nudes News, Busty Nudes News and Naughty Nudes.

[2] Do not think of this balance between a central government (out of touch with the people) and local governments (which can be more susceptible to corruption) as historical or academic. Two hundred years later and half a world away this very issue was fought over in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

[3] As far as I am concerned “Gay Marriage” is an oxymoron; but, if some activist jurist imposed that on us, it would be the least of my problems. Far more worrying to me is the frightening expanse of central government.
